FREQUENTLY ASKED
Everything you wanted to ask.
Booking your first lesson can feel like a lot of questions. Here are the ones we hear most often — grouped so you find yours fast.
01
GETTING STARTED
First steps & the basics.
I've never driven before — where do I start?+
That\'s exactly who we teach every week. Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or the enquiry form. We\'ll have a short chat about your goals and availability, then book your first lesson at a pace you\'re comfortable with.
Do I need a provisional licence before I book?+
Yes — you\'ll need a valid UK provisional licence before your first driving lesson. Applying online at gov.uk takes about 10 minutes. You can book lessons with us before it arrives, we just can\'t start until you have it.
What areas of Worcester do you cover?+
We cover Worcester city and surrounding areas including St. John\'s, Warndon, Blackpole, Ronkswood, Battenhall, Barbourne, Rainbow Hill, Fernhill Heath, Hallow, Kempsey, Powick and more. Not sure about your postcode? WhatsApp us — we\'ll tell you honestly.
Do you pick me up from home?+
Yes — pickup from your home, work or college is included in your lesson at no extra cost, as long as you\'re inside our coverage area.
02
LESSONS & LEARNING
How lessons work in practice.
Manual or Automatic — which should I choose?+
Both are valid choices, and we teach both. Automatic is generally quicker to learn (no clutch, no gear changes), which suits nervous learners and those wanting a straightforward route. Manual gives you the flexibility to drive both types of car and is preferred by many employers. Not sure? Have a chat with Ihti — he\'ll give you an honest recommendation based on your goals.
How many lessons will I need before my test?+
There\'s no fixed number — it depends on how quickly you build confidence, your prior driving experience and how often you practise. The DVSA averages around 45 hours of professional instruction plus 22 hours of private practice for most learners, but we\'ve had learners pass with less and some who needed more. What matters is that you\'re genuinely ready — not rushed to book a test before you are.
I've had lessons elsewhere but they didn't work. Can you help?+
Absolutely — this is one of the most common reasons learners come to us. We\'ll start with a short assessment lesson to see where your confidence and skills are, then build a plan from there. No judgement, no starting from scratch unnecessarily. Just a fresh approach that respects what you already know.
I'm a nervous driver — is that OK?+
More than OK — many of our best success stories started with nervous learners. We specialise in a calm, patient approach. There\'s no shouting, no pressure and no comparison with anyone else. We move at your pace and celebrate every bit of progress.
What car will I learn in?+
A modern, dual-controlled car that\'s regularly serviced and safety-checked. It\'s the same car you\'ll take your test in, so there are no surprises on the day.
03
TEST & PRICING
Booking, cost & test day.
Do you help me book my theory and practical test?+
Yes — we\'ll guide you through booking your theory test online (via gov.uk) and help you time your practical test booking so you\'re genuinely ready for it. We know the local test centres well.
Can I use your car for my driving test?+
Yes — you\'ll take your practical test in the same car you\'ve been learning in, with dual controls that meet DVSA requirements. It removes one big unknown from test day.
What are your prices?+
Prices depend on lesson type (Manual vs Automatic), single lessons vs blocks, and intensive courses. Get in touch by phone or WhatsApp — we\'ll give you honest, transparent pricing based on what you actually need. No hidden fees, no pressure to buy blocks you don\'t want.
Do you offer intensive courses?+
Yes — intensive courses fast-track your learning across a short structured period, ideal if you have time available and want to focus. We\'ll talk you through whether it\'s the right fit before you commit.
What's your cancellation policy?+
Life happens — we get it. If you need to reschedule, give us as much notice as you can (ideally 48 hours). Same-day cancellations may be chargeable but we\'re always fair and reasonable, especially for genuine emergencies.
STILL WONDERING?
Ask us anything.
If your question isn't covered above, we'd love to hear it. WhatsApp is usually the fastest — but pick whatever's easiest for you.
